Phuentsholing to Thimphu n/stay

On arrival at the airport, received by our representative and then transfer to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan. Meet and greet on arrival time and after processing permit You will drive to Kharbandi Gumba & Crocodile Park, & Drive through spectacular mountain views and peaceful countryside to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital & overnight stay in Thimphu


Punakha Dochula and n/stay Thimphu

After breakfast Thimphu sightseeing. Visit Trashichhoedzong,on the way to Punakha the beautiful medieval fortress/monastery which houses most of the Government's office and King's Throne room It is also the summer residence of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot. After that drive to Arts & Crafts School, famous for traditional thangkha paintings. Here you will see, students at work producing intricate design on cloth.


Punakha to Paro n/stay

After breakfast drive to Paro en route visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom built in 1627, it now houses the School for religious studies. Afternoon in Paro visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum of the Kingdom. Originally built as Watch Tower since 1967 it is serving as the National Museum of the country and holding fascinating collection of art, artifacts, thangkha paintings and Bhutan's exquisite postage stamps. Afterwards, walk down a hillside trail to visit Rinpung Dzong. Built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal , the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan, the Dzong houses the monastic body of Paro, the office of the Dzongda (district administrative head) and Thrimpon (judge) of Paro district.


Paro to Phuentsholing drop

After breakfast drive north of Paro valley to ruins of Drukgyel Dozng. From this fort Bhutanese repelled several invasions by Tibetan armies. Nearby visit traditional Bhutanese Farm House which offers good insight into lifestyle of local people. Then take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, the most famous of Bhutanese monasteries. It is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery hence it is called "Tiger's Nest". The excursion to monastery takes about 5 hours for round trip. While return to Paro town visit en route Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Hike to Taktshang Monastery and sightseeing. Stay at Paro. On the fifth day of your tour, visit the beautiful and sacred Monasteries. After breakfast take a short hike (2 hours) to Taktshang Monastery. Taktsang Lhakhang is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and religious site. The name Taktsang translates to “The Tiger’s Nest”. This temple is one of the most holy sites in the kingdom and clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 hundred meters above the Paro Valley. Taktsang Lhakhang is located approximately 10 km north of Paro town at an altitude of 3.120 meters. In order to arrive at the temple visitors must trek for around 2-3 hours through beautiful, shady pine forests. No trip to Bhutan would be complete without a visit to this remarkable heritage site.

  • Taktsang Monastery
  • Taktsang Monastery is also called as Tigers Nest is located in Paro. Altitude of this monastery provides it an edge of fascinating site. It is the most fascinating attraction of Paro valley as Paro Taktsang is at an altitude of 3100 meters above sea level and it is hanging on a cliff.

  • Punakha Dzong
  • Punakha was once a capital of Bhutan where Punakha Dzong is situated. This Dzong is a display of marvelous and amazing Bhutanese architecture. Situated at the convergence of two rivers Po-Chu and Mo-Chu Punakha Dzong is the most beautiful Dzong and largest Dzong of Punakha.

  • Buddha Dordenma
  • Height of this statue is 169 feet. This statue in Thimpu is made of bronze and gold. 125000 small Buddha is placed inside this gigantic statue.

  • Chele la Pass
  • This pass is one of the highest pass located at an altitude of 3810 meters in Bhutan. Paro and Haa valley is separated by this beautiful pass.

  • Thimpu Dzong
  • Thimpu Dzong is also known as Tashichho Dzong. It was built on 1216. Being one of the largest monastery of Bhutan it is seat of Bhutan’s national government. This Dzong had been reconstructed and renovated several times.

  • Punakha Suspension Bridge
  • This suspension bridge is the longest suspension bridge which is built over Po-Chu river in Bhutan and located very closer to Punakha Dzong. This suspension bridge is a connection between nearby villages and the bridge is surrounded by mountains.

  • Tango Buddhist Institute
  • Commonly known as Tango monastery which is an educational institution for monks to study their religious textbooks. Tango Buddhist Institute has many beliefs and mythologies related with it.

  • Rinpung Dzong
  • Rinpung Dzong is a famous place to be visited in Paro. It is a large Buddhist monastery. Long ago this Dzong was used as a meeting hall for national assembly.

  • Gangteng Monastery
  • This monastery was built in 1613 and it is located in Phobjika valley. It was built by First Gangteng Tulku and it is the seat of Gangteng incarnation line.
